EIUFF Monthly Round Table Discussion - La Rivière

Join us at the French Institute of Scotland on Wednesday 22 April for the first of our monthly round table discussions, taking place after the screening of La Rivière.

As part of EIUFF’s ongoing exploration of All That Surrounds Us, this month we turn to water, and the forces that shape our landscapes and everyday lives. From rivers to coastlines, water plays a central role in how enviroments and communities develop, and how thay are affected by change.

Winner of the 2023 Jean-Vigo Prize, Dominique Marchais' La Rivière explores the fragile ecosystems of the Pyrenean mountain streams, offering a reflection on enviromental change and our relationship with the natural world.

Following the 6pm screening, the discussion will explore the environmental issues raised in the film, from human impact on river ecosystems to questions of sustainability and responsibility. With contributions from our guest speakers, the session will open up to audience discussion.…
