As an organisation led by students and recent graduates, many of our roles run on a one-year cycle, giving new people the chance to join our team each year and bring fresh perspectives to EIUFF.

work experience for under-18s
EIUFF welcomes applications from secondary school students interested in gaining hands-on experience through a five-day summer work experience with our team.
Students will primarily work remotely within our Sponsorship and Partnership, and Finance teams, supporting efforts to secure grants, build partnerships, and connect with sponsors who can contribute funding, products, or in-kind support to our initiatives.
Alongside this, they will also have opportunities to assist with general festival tasks and get involved in other areas of the festival that align with their interests.

At EIUFF, our volunteers, ambassadors, and previewers are a central part of our mission to support the next generation of filmmakers. By joining EIUFF, you become part of an international community that discovers new talent, supports emerging voices, and helps bring independent film to new audiences.
Whether you are promoting the festival as an ambassador or reviewing films as a previewer, you will gain real experience, industry insight, and valuable connections whilst helping us build a platform dedicated to young and emerging filmmakers. Join our community, and help bridge the gap between university and the film industry.
EIUFF Ambassador
What is an Ambassador?
We are currently recruiting ambassadors. An EIUFF Ambassador is an individual who represents and promotes the Edinburgh International University Film Festival within their personal and professional networks. As an ambassador, you will be the face of EIUFF to your community, sharing our mission, encouraging film submissions, and helping build excitement around the festival!
Key Responsibilities:

Promote the Festival across social media and through word of mouth to your networks

Share Updates about submission deadlines, festival announcements, and events

Encourage Submissions from filmmakers within your network

Engage Your Community and help build awareness of EIUFF's mission

Promote Ticket Sales and encourage attendance at festival events

Flexible and remote. Most active promotion happens April-May 2026, leading up to the festival (September 2026)
Important Note
As an Ambassador, you cannot submit films to the EIUFF competition section. However, you are welcome to submit films to our Out of Competition section, a non-competitive screening category for ambassadors and industry guests.
